Watch 'Mystic India' IMAX film at Prasads, Hyderabad

Dear Hyderabadis! 'Mystic India' will be shown to all Hyderabadis starting from tomorrow at Prasads IMAX. Please take this opportunity to watch this film on giant screen. Below are the synopsis of the film: On June 29, 1792, Neelkanth begins his journey of awakening. Having resolved to embrace the challenges of nature, he leaves his home in the city of Ayodhya. Neelkanth walks alone into the cold stormy night, wearing nothing over his shoulders or under his feet, carrying nothing - no maps, no money, no food - except inner courage, confidence and a silent spiritual strength. At the Saryu River, he enters the cold, raging current. Neelkanth is swept away, leaving behind all that was familiar.

Neelkanth's footprints begin to map the length and breadth of India - its dense jungles, fertile plains, majestic mountains, mighty rivers, and peaceful coastlines. Flourishing for more than 8,000 years, this land has been home to an ancient and highly advanced civilization. Neelkanth's walk would last for 7 years, 12,000 kilometers, covering every corner of India. On the banks of the Ganges, Neelkanth takes part in the Harki Pedhi Arti (The Ceremony of Lamps) at Haridwar. For thousands of years, Hindus have gathered here to pay their respects to India's most sacred river. A priest notices Neelkanth in the distance and desires to meet him.

Neelkanth poses a riddle to the priest, "Iron sinks, but wood floats. What should iron do to keep from sinking?" No matter how long it takes, the priest promises himself to find the answer. Continuing his way north, Neelkanth climbs his way to the mountain village of Sripur, famous for its grand shrine, Kamleshwar Muth. The mahant (chief priest) notices Neelkanth resting under a nearby tree. He warns Neelkanth of the man-eating lion terrorizing the village and invites Neelkanth to stay in the Muth. Neelkanth asks, "Can your doors stop death?" As night falls, the doors of every home are tightly fastened. It is well past midnight and a chilling roar shatters the eerie silence. A lion charges through the grass spotting Neelkanth. They meet face to face. The Mahant, fearful for the young child, looks out his window and sees a strange and unbelievable sight; the ferocious lion is humbly lying by the feet of Neelkanth.

The next morning, as Neelkanth leaves, the grateful faces of villagers surround him.Hosting a diversity of faces, India is home to a colorful mixture of people. Neelkanth introduces us to the faces of India. Home to 18 different languages and 850 dialects, India is the envy of the world; no other country, even continent, has so many different people living and working together.Continuing into the Himalayas, Neelkanth makes his way to Badrinath Temple. Standing at 11,300 feet, Badrinath is one of India's most revered temples. For six months of the year, the temple closes during the deadly cold winter. A procession begins its journey down from the mountains to warmer temperatures and safety. A priest meets Neelkanth on the steps of the temple and invites Neelkanth to join him, but Neelkanth says, "I am not going down, I am going up…to Lake Mansarovar." The priest cannot believe what he has just heard. He says "At this time of year…you'll face blizzards and avalanches. You'll never survive." Neelkanth smiles and walks down the steps, leaving the priest to wonder why such a young child would risk his life in the mountains. For six months, in the freezing temperatures with no shelter, Neelkanth treks through the Himalayas, home to 92 of the 94 tallest peaks in the world. Crossing a pass at 18,000 feet, Neelkanth reaches the sacred peak of Mt. Kailash, and the holy shores of Mansarovar, the source of four of India's mighty rivers - Indus, Brahmaputra, Karnali and Sutlej. With no guide or maps, Neelkanth negotiates through the deepest gorge in the world cut by the Kali Gandki between Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri in the Annapurna Mountain range.

Eventually, he reaches Muktinath at 12,500 feet, where an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu gloriously stands to this day, encircled by 108 waterspouts. Here he undertakes a journey without motion, a journey within. Performing severe austerities in a rare yogic posture, months turn to seasons, seasons turn to years, and Neelkanth grows older and wiser.Descending the mountains, it has been 5 years since Neelkanth has left his home. From the peaceful villages to the mountain peaks, Neelkanth leads us through a land ornamented with grand monuments, palaces, and relics of stone. We explore Indian architecture and its paradise of styles, forms and shapes.Neelkanth's route leads him through the rainforests of Assam, the jungles of Sunderbans and to the shores of Jagannath Puri. The annual Rath Yatra (Festival of Chariots) is celebrated here. Every year, for thousands of years, millions of pilgrims flock here to pull the chariot of Lord Jagannath. Raja Mukund Dev, King of Jagannath Puri, invites Neelkanth to celebrate Rath Yatra.A conch shell blows and the boisterous clanging of plates deafens us. Directly ahead, we see Neelkanth sitting on a colossal chariot and the king standing by his side. Hundreds are pulling the chariot with four massive ropes. Pilgrims are cheering, singing, dancing, and throwing vermillion into the air. The huge wheels of the chariot fill our vision. We float above and let the Rath pass beneath to reveal an awesome sight of thousands. A sea of colors shines below. This festival is just one of many festivals of India. They are expressions of joy for many occasions - be it the birth of a child, the changing of the seasons, or the New Year. A wide spectrum of colors, costumes and customs are portrayed in the festivals of India. Viewers are immersed in some of the greatest festivals of India; from the lights of Diwali to the colors of Holi.Following the eastern coastline, Neelkanth arrives in South India at the ancient Rameshwaram Temple. Built in the 12th century, the Rameshwaram temple has 1,212 pillars and India's longest stone corridor stretching 1.2 kilometers. This temple is one of the most important pilgrimage places in all of India. At each of the 22 wells, people bathe as a purification rite. Standing by one of these wells, Neelkanth is pleased to find the priest he met in Haridwar five years back. The priest has found the answer to Neelkanth's riddle, "If iron attaches itself to wood, iron too can float. We are the iron ring. Enlightened persons like you are the wood." Pleased with the priest's response, Neelkanth explains that the association of an enlightened person keeps our weaknesses from drowning us in the ocean of life. For the next two years, Neelkanth travels from the temple towns of South India, through the backwaters of Kerala and ends his journey in the village Loj in Gujarat. In the villages of India, where to this day 80% of all Indians live, it is a tradition to welcome visitors like gods.A giant banyan tree hangs over Loj. Under this tree, villagers often gather for discussions. Neelkanth learns of a great saint and teacher Ramanand Swami in one of these gatherings. Delighted to hear such news, Neelkanth waits for him in his ashram. While at the ashram Neelkanth, who conquered the challenges of nature, sweeps the floors. Having mastered all the disciplines of yoga by the age of 14, Neelkanth shares his knowledge with others.Neelkanth and Ramanand Swami meet on a riverbank. Ramanandji says, "Now that you have arrived, lead the people because you are the true master." But Neelkanth prefers the silence of the mountains. Ramanand Swami encourages Neelkanth and says, "Awakening was your aim and shall continue to be so. Your footprints in the sands of time will light up the path for seekers of courage, confidence, love, truth, and tolerance."Neelkanth grows older to become one of the greatest spiritual leaders of India. His lessons continue to inspire millions. His vision, work, and wisdom echoes the essence of Indian culture - its unity in diversity. This is the greatest gift India can offer the world.

Addicted to F R I E N D S - The best TV show ever

There have been many of my favorite TV shows but FRIENDS is really one of the best till date!

Initially, when it use to be aired regularly, I thought what is this series all about and why do they laugh on the jokes? Till one day I got the DVD of episode 5 and 6, and then after just two episodes, I was hooked to this situation comedy so much that even today when it comes at late night between 11:30 till 1:00 in Zee Cafe and Star One, I hardly miss the episodes, I think I can watch it many times more and never get bored of it.

It ran for 10 years with 10 seasons and 236 episodes! (September 94 to May 2004). For the 6 characters, 1000 actors were shortlisted It was on air for 10 years and had the best TRP's ever. I think one cannot say which character is better...It has best of writers (12 writers work on the script to make it funny!), actors and directors and good production values of that time.

The 6 actors started with pay of 22,500$ per episode and in the end went up to 1,00,000$ per episode. One of the good things in this TV series that all the 6 characters are there through out! I think this is an record Below are some trivia of FRIENDS ... because I am sure like me there are many people who are fans of this wonderful series

The first line of dialogue in the very first pilot episode of Friends was "There's nothing to tell."

The six characters full names are Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston),Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (Matt le Blanc), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) and Ross Geller(David Schwimmer).

The occupations of the characters are as follows: Ross, palaeontologist; Monica, chef; Joey, actor/model; Phoebe, masseuse; Rachel, waitress; Chandler, data processor.

A 30-second commercial during the break in the show in America cost advertisers £500,000.
Other titles considered for the series included "Once upon a time in the West Village", "Insomnia Café" and "Across the Hall". The original title, "Friends like Us", was shortened to the current one-worder.

Over 5 miles of film are used for every episode. They hold around 12 hours of footage which has to be cut down to 22 minutes.

If all goes well it takes 5 hours to film an episode.

Matthew Perry admits to still getting nervous before episodes.

Friends use 4 cameras for each scene.

Canned laughter is used where the audiences laughter lasts too long or isn't what editor, Steve Prime, is looking for.

According to Aniston, her famous "Rachel" hairdo was created by accident when her "friend" Chris cut her hair with a razor. In US at the time when show was on air, "The Rachel Cut" became famous!

David Schwimmer attended Beverly Hills High, the school on which the series Beverly Hills: 90210 was based.Matthew Perry appeared in Beverly Hills: 90210 earlier in his career. He said of his role: "Its kind of a blur, but I remember playing the most popular kid in school who ends up with a gun in his mouth because his Dad is so overbearing".

Perry's wit is so legendary that the scriptwriters have often incorporated his gags into the show.
Aniston attended the New York High School for the Performing Arts, the school that Fame was modelled on.

Central Perk, the café in which they all hang out, is based on the Manhattan Café in New York's West Village. The decor in Central Perk is changed every 5 episodes or so.

Cox was a cover girl for People Magazine's "50 most beautiful people in the world" issue. She was also dubbed "TV's hottest babe" by American Playboy magazine.

Perry dated Roberts after her appearance on the show. His verdict? "She does leave toothpaste all over the sink and she's always wanting to borrow money". :)

The whole cast huddle together before each episode to wish each other luck. This made frequent guest star Tom Selleck feel a bit left out.

Perry's Dad was an actor who starred in the Old Spice aftershave ad's, his mother was Press Secretary to Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

Kudrow has made appearances on several "worst dressed" lists in American magazines, but because of her characters clothes rather than her own.

Perry is very fond of female vocalists. He says, "If you're a woman and in any kind of emotional duress and you sing a song about it, I will buy your album". Favorites include Shawn Colvin, the Indigo Girls and Tori Amos.

When the pilot show was approved by the network, and a series commissioned, the entire cast was sent on a free trip to Las Vegas.

After graduating from speech and theater from Chicago's Northwestern University, Schwimmer founded a theatre company, Lookinglass, with 17 classmates.

Aniston's Dad was an actor, John Aniston, who starred in top US soap Days of our Lives. He divorced her mother when Aniston was nine.

Aniston recently played a very unglamorous role in Ed Burn's film Shes the One. She was cast as a wife whose husband refuses to sleep with her.

Courteney Cox's stepcousin is Stuart Copeland, of pop group The Police fame.

Schwimmer is very keen to become a father. "I've always wanted a family", he says. "I think that's why we're here - to have children, raise them well and try to improve the quality of life for all the people who will follow".

The cast apparently get on as well in real life as they do on screen. They play poker and Scrabble together, and the girls often shop with each other.

Le Blanc and Aniston were rumored to have had a fling. (Hmmm...how u doinnnn?)

The day he auditioned for Friends, Le Blanc had a big scab on his nose and forehead after falling down drunk on a bender the night before.

When Schwimmer first met Le Blanc he was sceptical. Le Blanc was wearing leather jeans and Schwimmer thought he was "Joe cool stud" and hated him on sight.

When she was younger Aniston wanted to be a sculptor. At the age of 11, she had a painting in an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

After being picked to play Roz Doyle in Frasier, Kudrow was subsequently dropped in favour of actress Peri Gilpin before the pilot was even shot.

Friends is Channel 4's top-rating comedy, regularly attracting four million viewers.

Kudrow's father is one of the world's leading experts in headaches.

Le Blanc was down to his last $11 when he got the part in Friends.

Schwimmer claims to have been a "fat, ugly geek" in high school.

Cox played the part of Michael J Fox's girlfriend Lauren in Family Ties, between 1986 and 1988.
She claims to have been really in love only once. The lucky man was called Paul, hailed from Leeds, and "he made a hell of a Yorkshire pudding".

Now engaged to marry Sandra Bullock's ex-fiance Tate Donovan, Aniston counts among her former loves ER's Noah Wyle, actor Jonathan Silverman, co-star Matthew Perry and Grant Heslov, from True Lies.

David Schwimmer accused the handlers of his on-screen pal Marcel the monkey of being "too possessive". He claims that he was never allowed to bond with the creature.

The monkey was the first cast member to get a Hollywood movie role, appearing in the movie Outbreak.

The daughter of Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon, Jennifer Grant, played Nina Bookbinder, an employee of Chandler's who ended up dating him in the first series.

The Friends album includes songs from REM, Joni Mitchell and Hootie and the Blowfish, a band four of them once went to see.

The theme tune, I'll be there for you by the Rembrants, has been a huge hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

Friends executive producers Marta Kuaffman and David Crane also created the adult sitcom Dream On.

The characters of Ross's ex-wife and her girlfriend Susan are based on the godmothers to Kauffman's daughter.

The opening footage of the cast dancing around a fountain was filmed on the Warner Brothers lot in LA at five o'clock one morning.

The first thing Cox bought with her Friends money was a brand new Porsche.

Cox was the best-known member of the cast before the show. She played opposite Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and was in Cocoon: The Return.

Le Blanc is currently filming Lost in Space with Gary Oldman at Shepperton Studios. He's renting a flat in London's Kensington and has been seen shopping in Budgens.

Two models for American underwear company Victoria's Secret appeared in the first series. One was the dream girl Chandler gets stuck with during a blackout, the other was a girl who is convinced that Joey has VD.

Perry looked at 40 houses before buying his current W-shaped ranch house with pool in LA.
Aniston bought her brother Bronco car for Christmas, and he cried.

Schwimmer was in the first series of NYPD Blue. He was a nerd who lived in the apartment next door to Sherry Stringfield and ended up shooting a mugger.

Kudrow co-stars with Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino in a new film, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.

Christina Pickles, who plays Monica's mum, also worked with Cox ten years ago on the film Masters of the Universe.

Cox has said of her character: "She's obsessive, the one who has to be perfect and please everybody. I'm so similar to her it's frightening".

When Jay Leno asked Aniston to touch her nose with her tongue on the Tonight show, she politely declined.

Kudrow started her showbiz career at Groundlings, a local improvisational comedy school in LA.
Schwimmer has a multi-million-dollar deal with top Hollywood studio Miramax to star in and direct several films.

Aniston starred in an unsuccessful horror movie called Leprechaun in 1993.

Her next feature is a romantic comedy, Picture Perfect.

Kudrow used to date American talk show host Conan O'Brian.

Le Blanc admits to having spat in someone's food when he worked in a New York burger joint.
Aniston's shampoo commerical for L'Oreal is only being shown in Europe. She says she will never do a hair-product ad in America.

Her godfather was former Kojak actor Telly Savalas.

Perry has recently lost two and a half stone, while allegedly depressed and on painkillers. Despite celebrity girlfriends such as Julia Roberts, he attributes his state of mind to his failure with women.

Raised in Ottawa, Canada, Perry was a junior tennis ace before taking up acting. He never graduated from college. He gave up his studies when he won a role in a sitcom called Boys will be Boys. His first movie role since joining Friends was Fools Rush In, playing a nightclub promoter.

Childhood Friends of southern belle Cox were reportedly shocked at the lesbian storyline in the show.

Perry's grandfather, however, loves the show. And so do all his friends.
In a somewhat unlikely claim, Perry also insists that Mrs Thatcher is an avid viewer, particularly of Joey and Chandler's scenes.

Neurotic about her looks, Cox worries about the thin, dry skin under her eyes, having different sized nostrils and a double chin.

There's a book out called Cooking with Friends, full of comfort-food recipes for when "it hasn't been your day, your month or even your year" - a reference to the theme song.
Matt le Blanc used to model Levi 501's and has appeared in TV ads for Coca-Cola and Heinz Ketchup.

Le Blanc admits to being a mummy boy, and is devoted to his Italian mother, Pat Grossman. He didn't meet his father until he was eight.

Cox plays a TV reporter chasing down a serial killer in horror flick Scream.

The show's producers admit that the characters could never afford the rents on the apartments they live in on the show.

Highlights of the third series include guest appearances by Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, and a scene in which Joey strips naked.

From series 6 onwards, the title music I'll Be There For You is cut from 45 to 35 seconds.

There are 500 tickets available per show, but there are only 300 seats in the studio.

Friends is shot in Studio 9 at Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, California.

The studio is 4 stories high and the top is known by gaffers as the "ozone".

The cast and crew are big fans of the Nintendo 64 and play Mario Kart 64 on their breaks.

Friends averages over 26 million viewers every week in the US alone.

Props Master, Marjorie Coster-Praytor, had to make 6 version of Phoebe's shoe-house in case they didn't get the shot of it burning down first time.

Matthew Perry is the only cast member aloud to the screen writings. He often helps the writers with jokes for the show.

In 2008 there were rumors that they will make a feature film but nothing has happend so far, Hope all the fans of the Friends get to see a full lenght feature film because if they delay, all the 6 famous characters are now in 40's!
